Mahendra is an education and disability rights activist. This interest stems largely from his parents, who are both deaf and mute, and more specifically, Mahendra took a break from high school owing to hardship, but returned and aced his High School Diploma and CSEC. Mahendra has a Royal Commonwealth Society (United Kingdom) Distinction of Associate Fellow and was the sole Guyanese in the Young Leaders Program 2019-2020 in the United States. He now serves as a Youth Development Mentor.
