Darien Castro
Mock Education Ministers Summit Delegate for Ecuador
Mock COP
I’m part of Youth 4 TPNW AS MY activism spectrum as a complement of different issues in terms of Human rights that have correlation with Climate Change and health, that’s the reason because we could get alliances with Nuclearban in Austria, the organization that sponsored and promote the Treaty for Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons , we could contribute to a Youth Letter for TPNW and we will contribute in the Second Meeting of Party in New York. I was a Civil Society delegate with Y4TPNW in 1 MSP and we will continue to contribute as a partner in LATAM of this organization. I’m collaborating in a volunteer project of research about the Zaporizhzhya nuclear plant and its risks, directed by Dr John Reuwer.
I consider that transition plans start to be suddenly a valid option for the EU during war conflicts, however, limitations for well being protection in environmental conditions as low temperatures can promote a regression to gas dependence. Some alternatives in renewable energies will probably be applied as main sources with fossil fuels shortage and I can see this context as an opportunity for our mission.
Another goal that I started to develop is promoting programs focused in SDG and scientific research around high poverty level locations. With the support of Teach the Teacher initiative in 2021 and 2022 (photos) we could start with climate education expansion. We understand the importance of political and international institutions in policy making spaces to get new innovated goals like adapting climate change in the academic curriculum and have a positive effect in environmental protection laws like I did it with my participation as a technical team of environmentalist movement to stop the extractivism and mining project in the Amazon region of Ecuador. In the global affairs approach, I have had successful relations with academic and international institutions. We have got successful agreements of funding management and youth programs potential with Caribbean programs like HEY Campaign from UNICEF-ASHLEY LASHLEY FOUNDATION coalition in Barbados and international UNFCCC support that talk about. I’m Focal Point in LATAM of this initiative that wants to work in health-climate change relation and the side effects and causal consequences in sustainability and well-being of marginalized communities . Other collaborations that we could get during the last three years are with Pontifical Cathoic University of Ecuador as Coordinator of Volunteer program and SOA coordination (Sustainable Ocean Alliance).

Summary of scientific research
My early work centred around an innovative examination of the primary function of the idea of participation in the core theological approach of St. Thomas Aquinas, especially with regard to the crucial point of the question of the “participation (of man) in the divine nature” (2 Pt 1:4). The main and new conclusion was that man, because he is free, i.e. causa sui, is his own cause in the order of the re-creation not only of his own growth but also of the communication (κοινωνια) of divine grace to another human being, to a “you” who freely wants that grace.
