Winnie Byanyima is the Executive Director of UNAIDS and an Under-Secretary-General of the UN. Before joining UNAIDS, Ms Byanyima served as the Executive Director of Oxfam International (2013-2019), as the Director of Gender and Development at UNDP (2006-2013), as the Director of the AU Directorate of Women, Gender and Development (2004-2006), as a member of the Ugandan Parliament (1994-2004) and as Uganda’s ambassador to France (1989-1994).
